Audrey’s first brush with pilates several years ago was as a client who was coping with back pain and scoliosis. Pilates proved to be such a life-altering experience for her that in 2002, she changed reins to become an instructor in the hope of touching others’ lives through the movement. Today, Audrey’s not only the architect and fitness director of The Moving Body—a culmination of her decade of fitness and personal training and pilates experience— she remains an ardent student and purveyor of pilates who has been accredited by the Pilates Method Alliance. She’s fully certified to train in Polestar Pilates, GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods and has been recently accepted as a Gyrotonic Pretrainer to educate aspiring teachers. Audrey has also completed Gyrotonic therapeutic applications in scoliosis and the shoulder girdle with Paul Horvath. She takes a keen interest in working with elite athletes, teenagers and clients with scoliosis. |

Originally from the UK, Joanne has been a certified RSA group fitness instructor since 1996. Her first point of contact with pilates was when a friend encouraged her to try pilates to treat a nagging pain in her hip. Not only did pilates alleviate Joanne's hip pain, she found that she was able to achieve a new level of fitness. Joanne then started her training as a client, at a clinic in Geneva for the next ten years. After moving to Singapore in 2005, she decided to take her training to the next level and enrolled with Polestar Pilates to train both as a pilates mat and studio instructor.
Due to Joanne's personal experience, one of her main interests is to help young mums, through pilates, regain and even improve on their pre-pregnancy strength and fitness using a method she knows to be not only effective but safe and above all enjoyable. She continues to upgrade herself by attending pilates workshops and conferences, as well as courses on pre and postnatal training. |
